Amanda Hill is a Brisbane-based wildlife and animal portrait artist known for her highly detailed drawings created in graphite, coloured pencil and pastel. Her work focuses on capturing the character and presence of animals through careful observation and refined mark-making.

Amanda studied at the Queensland College of Art in the 1980s, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communication before beginning her career as a designer. She later returned to university to complete a Bachelor of Education, combining her passion for creativity with teaching. Amanda currently teaches Visual Arts on the Gold Coast while continuing to develop her practice as a professional artist.

Her work has featured in local and regional exhibitions throughout south-east Queensland, and selected pieces are currently on display at Straddivarious Art Gallery in Cleveland.

Amanda is best known for her detailed animal portraits and commissioned works, capturing beloved pets, wildlife and people with care and precision. Alongside her realistic drawings, she also creates vibrant paintings in acrylic and watercolour that reflect her graphic design background.

Each artwork is created in her home studio, where intricate drawings can take many hours to complete. Amanda is currently developing a series of Australian wildlife portraits exploring the character and quiet presence of native animals.
